Supplements
Why are supplements so
important?
Every part of our bodies need certain nutrients. The brain
feeds primarily off cholesterol and sugar, the lungs need magnesium, etc. To have optimum function of your body it
needs the right nutrients in the right form for maximum absorption. Take calcium for example, it is recommended
often by many physicians. However, not just any old calcium will do. Did you know that many calcium supplements are
comprised of calcium carbonate? Calcium carbonate is NOT absorbable in the human digestive tract.
Not as easy as it looks, huh? Well, at Optimum Wellness we
utilize only the brands of supplements and nutritional products that we have found to work the best and the ones
that Dr. Jones uses for his own personal use and for his family. In essence, we see our patients as part of our
family so we want to provide the best we possibly can to support you on your journey to health and
wellness.
Dr. Jones says "everyone has minimum requirements when it comes
to nutrition". One example would be a multi-vitamin. You can see the ones we recommend on our
products
page.
Honestly, how many of us get the recommended fresh
fruit and vegetable servings per day?
There are very few people who can answer yes to this question.
So what can you do? Supplement your diet with the appropriate vitamins and minerals to "fill in the the blanks". It
is also interesting that many programs, that we will keep anonymous, suggest that ketchup and french fries are
considered vegetables and they count toward your recommended daily allowances. We do not agree with such
recommendations. We do teach our patients that fresh is better than canned or frozen. Fresh means that the food is
as close to the way it should be naturally as possible.
What about organic?
Yes, we do recommend organic but we hold the position that not
all organic is the same.
